General Summary:

This position reports to Heritage Setup and Transport Coordinator or their designee; is located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for the freight packing, garage build and car operations for the Heritage cars. Expected to attend all Heritage Car associated events.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and packing of the Heritage operations freight and ensuring logistical movement deadlines are met.
  • Accountable for the build and functionality of the team’s garage environment at Heritage events
  • Report reliability issues as they occur and seek advice before undertaking any out of the ordinary tasks.
  • Responsibility for the cleanliness and condition of your work area
  • Following Engineering procedures and protocols as dictated by the Haas F1 Team pertaining to assembly, operation, and safety
  • Responsible for the transportation and loading of freight and logistical movements of the Heritage operation, including transporting the cars and equipment’s to events.
  • Ensure all road, air and sea freight is loaded correctly and safely on time for transportation whilst adhering to all relevant freight movement legislations.
  • Responsible for the build and maintenance of wheels and tyre preparation for Heritage events, ensuring we have relevant stock and parts required.
  • Accountable for the management and preparation of tyres at events.
  • Responsible for the construction of the garage environment trackside at Heritage events including overhead gantry and lighting systems, bannering systems, services and pit equipment whilst adhering to all Health and Safety regulations.
  • Support the on car running during a Heritage operation always working in a safe and professional manner.
  • Responsible for the parts, spare parts, tooling, garage equipment and other operational equipment associated with Heritage projects and ensuring all equipment is readily available and packed to support relevant events.
  • Follow Lifing and UIIL requirements to ensure full compliance is met in line with the regulations and team’s expectations – this includes having the Heritage Car’s built correctly on to relevant lifing systems.
  • Assist and support chosen departments to facilitate Turnarounds, Engineering Projects, Car Builds and Event Support.
  • Assist in the planning and managing of any rig testing throughout the season such as K&C or 7 Post.
  • Ensure the teams Show Cars and Race Bay presentation meets cooperate branding guidelines and expectations.
  • Support the Race Team and Race Team Operations Departments when required.
  • Expected to be able to take part in Pit Stops.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Heritage Setup and Transport Coordinator or their designee.

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required. Further education including trade school, appreciating or university degree desired.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within Formula 1, World Sports Cars, or F2 is preferred – however consideration will be given to a candidate who can demonstrate professionalism and a sound record of service within the Motorsport Industry.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Experience of international courier and van shipments utilizing carnet and T1 transit documents
  • Knowledge of Formula 1 garage equipment and systems
  • Basic understanding of Formula 1 vehicle systems and technology
  • Strong problem solving, logical thinking with research and reporting skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to overcome technical and operational issues.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.

 

Equipment and Applications:

  • Solid computer knowledge, preferred experience in Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Dynamics AX, 365 and 3DX
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements.

 

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require extensive domestic and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
