An exciting opportunity exists for Head of Vehicle Performance within our Engineering Group.
Utilising vehicle simulation and analysis tools, the primary areas of the Vehicle Performance Groups activity are:
- Performance analysis of interaction between chassis and controls systems.
- Analysis support for design of suspension and performance systems.
- Development of new controls concepts and architecture.
Additional activities include:
- Correlation of vehicle, tyre & power train models.
- Event support.
- Ride performance.
- DIL support.
- Delivery of analysis tools.
- Specification of engineering software requirements.
Reporting to the CTO and other heads of departments, the successful candidate will show a strong performance focus enabling them to drive forward chassis and power train setup direction for current and future vehicles. The position will involve direct liaison with the Trackside Performance Group, Controls Groups, Race Engineering, Systems and Design Office.
Required skills, qualifications & experience:
- Postgraduate degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Outstanding problem solving, mathematical and data science skills.
- Proven track record of chassis and controls performance development.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Ability to work effectively either within a cross-functional team with limited supervision.
- Capacity to report complex technical information clearly, concisely and professionally.
- Thorough, current awareness of FE controls, chassis & tyre technology.
- Awareness of modern modelling / simulation functionality within a Performance Engineering context.
