The current open position provides the successful candidate with a uniquely well-rounded opportunity with a well-respected and award-winning motorsports company. The position will work closely with the race team and requires extensive travel to test and race events. Responsible for proper performance of their engines, troubleshooting problems, maintenance while at the track and spare parts inventory.

Qualifications

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-year race engine tuning experience.
  • Special or technical training at an automotive technical school is preferred.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years professional motorsports race engine tuning experience.
  • Intimate knowledge of internal combustion engines, tuning and proper maintenance
  • Direct experience with at least one type of EFI system hardware, software and basic tuning
  • Direct experience in engine assembly and subassemblies.
  • Direct experience in engine and chassis dyno operation

 

Basic Skills

  • Strong hands on mechanical skills and familiarity with correct engine building practices
  • Strong working knowledge of internal combustion engines in a racing environment.
  • Strong racing engine troubleshooting skills and be able to work in a high pressure environment.

 

Computer Skills

  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of TBD EFI system software

 

Physical requirements are listed below but not limited to:

  • Standing-Frequent/Intermittent Up to 8 hours per day
  • Walking-Frequent/Intermittent Up to 8 hours per day
  • Sitting-Occasionally/Intermittent
  • Lifting-Up to 50 lbs. Occasionally/Intermittent
  • Carrying-Up to 50 lbs. Occasionally/Intermittent
  • Pushing/Pulling-between 50-100 lbs. Occasionally/Intermittent
  • Travel to 100% of the races and 10% of the tests

 

The candidate must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident. Temporary residence status does not include individuals in non-immigrant status (H, B, L, or TN visas) or those with temporary work authorization, such as students in practical training status (F and J visas). This position does not qualify for any visa sponsorships.
