Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.
From 2026, Audi will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
The new team has two locations. Audi's motorsport competence center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for innovative technologies and passion for racing. The power unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations. The planned takeover by AUDI AG turns two teams into one factory team - and you can be part of it.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

In the combustion engine development area, you will work on the mechanical development of a high-performance engine. It is your task to develop the maximum performance and efficiency of the engine while maintaining the required reliability in one or more areas of engine mechanics, such as friction power development, oil/cooling balance, crank drive, damage analysis and hydraulics.



  • Optimization of the friction power on components and the full engine using trailed friction power measurements
  • Mechanical development in the areas of oil management, cooling circuit, crank/gear/valve drive, intake/exhaust system and hydraulics for a high-performance racing engine from concept to racing use
  • Independent planning, execution and evaluation of tests as well as endurance testing and functional measurements on engine and component test benches
  • Analysis of test results and damage patterns as well as development of optimization measures
  • Development of damage models



  • Technical studies in mechanical engineering or automotive technology (bachelor's, master's, diploma or Dr.-Ing. degree)
  • Several years of professional experience in the area of ??engine mechanics development, friction performance optimization and testing on high-performance combustion engines
  • Broad knowledge of engine technology with very good knowledge of engine testing, measurement technology, tribology and materials science
  • Several years of experience in the field of damage analysis
  • Experience in the area of ??torsional vibration analyzes on engines and drive trains and strain gauge measurements
  • Experience operating engine, component and friction test benches
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Strong team and organizational skills as well as a high level of responsibility
  • Independent and structured way of working
  • Ability to make decisions and deal with conflict
  • Fluent German or English skills as well as the willingness to learn basic knowledge of the other language are required
