Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.
 
From 2026, Audi will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
 
The new team has two locations. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for innovative technologies and passion for racing. The power unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for chassis development and race operations. The planned takeover by AUDI AG will turn two teams into one factory team - and you can be part of it.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH at the Neuburg (Germany) site.

In the area of electronics and systems engineering, you will work on the development and testing of key components that bring the power unit's performance to the racetrack and contribute to competitiveness in a highly competitive environment.
You will be responsible for testing electronics, power electronics and battery management systems on test benches and in the laboratory.

 

Your tasks

You are responsible for defining and executing complete test plans for the electronic and electrical systems of our power unit. You ensure that the electronic systems deliver the best performance during bench tests and on race weekends and provide important feedback data to all PU engineers (hardware and software).

  • Developing test plans, planning test sessions and resources
  • Testing of electronic systems on test benches and in the laboratory
  • Support from Mission Control on race weekends
  • Analysis of test results, troubleshooting in embedded electronic systems. Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Analysis of test data from bench tests and race weekends
  • Participation in the development of low-voltage electronics and systems
  • Determination of test bench requirements, development of architectures for electronic test systems

 

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree in electrical engineering or similar
  • Strong skills in electronics design and development in a motorsport environment
  • Extensive knowledge of automated systems, particularly test and measuring equipment and protocols
  • Good knowledge of fault analysis in distributed electronic systems, signal integrity, EMC
  • Good understanding of hybrid drives
  • Programming skills (Embedded C, scripting) are an advantage
  • High level of motivation and initiative
  • Strong teamwork skills 
  • Targeted, independent and structured way of working
  • Willingness and flexibility to support test drives and races on weekends (on site in Neuburg) 
  • Fluent German or English skills and the willingness to learn basic knowledge of the other language are required
