Design Engineer

We’re looking for a full time Design Engineer to join our forward-thinking engineering team based in Buckinghamshire, UK.

Race team engineering opportunities also available for the right candidate.

The right candidate will be:

• Confident with CAD/CAM packages, ideally Autodesk Fusion360
• Proficient in understanding objectives and designing parts and assemblies both with and without supervision
• Able to demonstrate experience of previous design work
• Able to research and specify key components that are fit for purpose
• Proficient in producing detailed engineering drawings to a high standard
• Able to work effectively both as part of a team and under own initiative with a ‘can-do’ ethos
• Able to work quickly and quietly in a professional manner
• A real team player

As part of this role you will perform the following:

• Designing/re-designing products for prototype, small batch and concept products mainly in the motorsport field
• Work closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams
• Produce detailed models and engineering drawings to a high standard for CNC machining, laser cutting and fabrication
• Race team engineering opportunities for the right candidate – data analysis experience a distinct advantage

Who are we?

Steller Motorsport is a professional race team based in Buckinghamshire with a rich history in both racing and engineering. Having been involved in winning 3 x Group C World Championships, 3 x Touring Car Championships (SuperTouring), GT2, GT3, GT4 and LMP programmes, plus design and build of NGTC BTCC platform and most recently winning British GT's Teams, Drivers and Silver Cup championships. We have also been involved with EV road and race car programmes, as well as alternative fuel programmes which we are continuing to explore. We operate from the 25,000sq ft purpose-built, low carbon Steller Technical Centre just 10 minutes from Silverstone circuit, providing a comfortable working environment that is easily accessible from both the M1 and M40.
