Front Row Racing have the following full-time position available:

Design Engineer

An essential role within the engineering function, this role gives design and engineering freedom only otherwise found in the top flight of motorsport. Accordingly, the role will attract a certain type of candidate capable of functioning at that level, in a considered and controlled way with a proven track record of success in a similar field.

Basis: Full time Mon/Fri inc Winter – some race weekends

Based: Warrington, Cheshire; ability to work in the UK and abroad if required

5yrs+ Design Engineer experience

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design engineering at component and assembly level independently reporting to senior engineers and management.
  • End-to-end ownership for projects incorporating manufacture, build, testing and racing, including fault analysis and resolution.
  • Engineering problem solving, seeing solutions through to production.
  • Some workshop car build, preparation and fabrication will be required – flexibility to complete team tasks is a must
  • Travel to events will be required – amount varies

 

You’ll have

  • An understanding of mechanical engineering together with knowledge of relevant manufacturing technologies. Composites and electrical engineering knowledge is desirable.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification supported by associated design experience in motorsport, aerospace, or a related field.
  • An understanding of basic stress calculations and the ability to interpret stress analysis results.
  • CAD skills.  Experience of SolidWorks is advantageous.
  • Data analysis skills desirable but not essential.
