GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety:
Maintain "Safety First" priority on all projects
Report any injuries or unsafe conditions to management
Supervising, managing, and motivating team members on a daily basis
Office/Shop/Work Area Clean-Up:
Daily clean up of own area and shop area
Weekly in-depth clean up of same
Support team purchasing procedures:
Submit requisitions for parts, spares, and equipment through Team Manager
Track all parts requested from Technical Director and submit as requested
Coordinate work schedule with Mechanics in concert with Crew Chief
Competent with chassis set up and in-depth understanding of the rule book for the sanctioning body
Fulfill any other responsibilities that are related to the job
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise car builds and preparation by delegating tasks, providing work lists, build sheets, and clear team goals
Accept responsibility for the condition in which the car is presented for sessions and technical inspection
Work closely with Race Engineer to ensure car meets all set up parameters and technical inspection requirements
Organize and maintain essential equipment, spare parts, and options for each event
Coordinate with Crew Chief work schedules, race and testing plan
Determine parts needed for repair or replacment on a daily basis
Follow RLL procedures to compile a comprehensive logbook to build a detailed usage history of chassis and components
Follow and ensure RLL mileage standards are met
Follow RLL purchasing procedures in support of purchase order system in place:
Approval of all requests through Team Manager
Notify parts department of any parts, materials and basic supplies needed in shop or transporter
Maintain a personal supply of tools as needed for duties required
Organize and supervise the over the wall pit crew in conjunction with our pit stop coach including direction, practice times, equipment maintenance, and disaster plans
Follow Dallara and RLL procedures to ensure car preparation and appearance is to RLL standards
Job Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of race car set up and quality standards
Proper knowledge and use of mechanic tools and procedures including: Hand tools, set up tools, magnaflux machine, zyglo machine, tape measure, calipers and micrometers
Use of metal and machine tools including: Drills, drill presses, grinders, punches, sanders, lathe, mill, welder, band saws, press
Travel:
You are required to travel to all races, tests, and other events as the schedule dictates
GENERAL COMMENTS:
This position requires the capabilities and self discipline to take direction as well as give it. To work with engineers and driver in a highly charged, professional environment while adhering to RLL procedures and standards in a timely, organized fashion.
This position includes supervisory duties including but not limited to customarily and regularly directing other employees, setting and adjusting work schedules, and controlling the distribution of work
