Role Overview:

To provide purchasing and administration services to management in the preparation and submitting of RFQ’s, supplier discussions, the raising of internal purchase requests, management of the authorisation process and the generation and placement of contractual purchase orders for components and services to support to support the Formula-E Team, Performance Programme & wider UK business requirements

Main Responsibilities: -        

  • The preparation and submitting of RFQ’s, cost negotiations where appropriate and the daily  raising of internal purchase request documents and supplier purchase orders for components and services     
  • Continual maintenance and accurate updating of purchasing data on databases to support business process systems including regular chasing of open purchase orders to ensure goods and services are delivered as required
  • Control and ownership of the purchase requisition and purchase order process, management of the authorisation sign off process and purchase order release to suppliers, through to delivery receipt
  • Liaising with internal and external departments and customers to provide support and develop robust, value adding, working relationships
  • The processing and management of supplier documentation and the enforcement of procurement policies and procedures, ensuring good governance and compliance.
  • Communicating with suppliers to ensure that they have clear and concise understanding of our requirements and that components and services are to be delivered on time and in line with business expectations
  • Building and maintaining good relationships within the company and with new and existing suppliers, ensuring they both understand our business and are aligned in terms of approach & values
  • Opportunity to further develop existing purchasing and negotiation skills in a motorsport environment and to be a key part of the Performance Program Procurement team

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Essential      

  • Experience, of working in an exciting, dynamic and challenging environment
  • Good PC software literacy is essential (Word, Excel, PP), any working experience of MRP/ERP systems would also be considered an advantage
  • A high level of professional organisational skills with conscientiousness, honesty, integrity and attention to detail being essential
  • Excellent proactive communication skills are required (written and verbal) (English language a must) with a friendly, open and approachable attitude to working in an open plan office environment in a global organisation
  • Must have a friendly approachable and flexible ‘can do’ and proactive attitude, with the ability to work as part of a dynamic team
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage any urgent dynamic business requirements when required, positively and effectively

 

Desirable     

  • Experience of working in an engineering based environment would be an advantage
  • Previous motorsport experience is not essential but would be useful
  • Experience of working in a challenging and fast moving business, knowledge and confidence in the implementation of new procedures and processes would be an advantage
