Race Team IT Support Analyst – Factory based (Ref: RSR-IS35)

We are currently looking to appoint a Race Team IT Support Analyst to join the Information Systems department. This role covers support of the trackside IT systems from the factory base.  It includes support, development and testing of both hardware and software before, during and after race events.  It will also include travel to some events, but this will not be a major part of the role.

Core Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support from the factory to the Race Team for IT issues including the support of in-house software

  • Test in-house trackside software as part of the release process.

  • Monitor and support trackside software and hardware remotely

  • Providing 2nd/3rd  line support for escalated support incidents

  • Track and follow-up Race Team IT faults.

  • Implementation of new systems related to the Race Team IT to provide continual improvement of the systems based on changing demand

  • Support other track related systems, including factory Operations room and Simulator

  • Creating and maintaining documentation to support the current infrastructure

  • Contributing to and adhering to the ITIL Change Management Process

Core Technical skills required include:

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a strong breadth of skills covering hardware and software.  This will have to include F1 specific software and processes (Atlas) as well as more general technologies such as virtualisation, SANs and Microsoft products.  Previous experience in a similar motorsport role is important.

Candidates should have a background consisting of experience in most of the following:

  • Support of MAT software suite (Atlas etc) with at least 1 years’ experience

  • Familiarity with Race Team operation and requirements

  • VMware virtualisation ESX 5.5 and 6.0

  • Juniper Networking Components

  • Routing, Switching and firewalls (minimum CCNA/JNCIA)

  • Microsoft Windows Client and Server Platforms

  • Microsoft Active Directory configuration and management

This role requires a high level of commitment and dedication to mission critical systems.  An ability to work individually and as part of the wider department, providing a pro-active and efficient service to the Team is essential, as are good communication and organisation skills.
