Pratt & Miller Engineering, known for our victories and championships in series that span the spectrum of Motorsports, is looking for a talented individual to join the IndyCar group as a Performance Engineer.
In this position, the ideal candidate will be assigned to support a customer IndyCar team while working as a member of the PME IndyCar race operations group.
Essential duties include:
In addition to the above responsibilities, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required:
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Required Education and Training:
BS in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
At least 5 years’ professional experience in automotive engineering
Required Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Experience in the development and application of multi-body simulation models
Vehicle dynamics background
Good analytical problem solving skills
Proficiency with Excel, MATLAB, and Pi Toolbox
Ability to work independently with little direction
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills for communicating with Pratt & Miller team members and clients
Preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
At least 3 years’ experience in professional motorsport
Experience with race car aerodynamics
MATLAB programming experience
Travel is extensive (75+ days a year) and while accommodations can be made, this position does work weekends and some holidays.
