Pratt & Miller's NASCAR Group seeks NASCAR Program Manager!

Located in Huntersville, NC, near the heart of NASCAR country, Pratt & Miller Engineering's NASCAR group is looking for a Program Manager to provide operational and overall business leadership of the PME NASCAR support group - responsible for customer relationships; group structure and staffing; resource requirements, resource allocation, and development; as well as planning and execution of customer programs.


Chevy NASCAR Support Manager

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships associated with the PME NASCAR support program
  • Management of PME NASCAR support personnel including responsibility for department organization structure, recruiting, and development/training of the PME NASCAR staff (supported by PME Human Resources Department)
  • Work closely with the PME NASCAR Program Chief Engineer in the planning and successful execution of technical support programs
  • Work with PME Core Functional leaders (software, aerodynamics, design, etc..) to plan and coordinate matrixed resources as required in support of NASCAR programs/projects
  • Coordinate and optimize allocation of PME NASCAR resources against customer objectives
  • Management of department business activities in conjunction with and supported by PME Finance Department and Motorsport Business unit leadership
  • Responsible for regular status updates to PME NASCAR customers and PME leadership
  • Attend approximately 12 Sprint Cup race events per year


Required Education & Experience:

  • BS/MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in top-level auto racing (F1, IMSA, IndyCar, NASCAR)
  • At least 2 years of experience in NASCAR Sprint Cup
  • At least 3 years of management or leadership experience required


Required Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with engineering methods typically used in race vehicle performance development (simulation, aerodynamic development, chassis development, etc.)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and a proven track record of working with development teams to execute engineering projects/programs
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently and move projects forward with little direction
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills for communicating with race teams, Pratt & Miller Engineering team members, and clients

Preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
• Overall experience with managing technical teams

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
•Extended hours and flexibility with work schedule may be required; occassional evening and weekend work are sometimes part of working within the Motorsports Industry.
• Working in motorsports sometimes means that travel is extensive. While accommodations can be made, time away from the office is often spent at the race track!
