Assistant, Associate or Professor in MotorSports Engineering
The Motorsports Engineering program at the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position at the assistant, associate, or professor level, commensurate with qualifications.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in mechanical, aerospace, automotive, materials, or a closely related engineering field. The ideal candidate will have a passion for motorsports and will initiate and sustain a sponsored research program in areas of importance to the motorsports field, including, but not limited to, structural mechanics, design, aerodynamics, automotive propulsion, mechatronics, composites, and simulations. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and advise undergraduate and graduate students.
IUPUI offers the only B.S. degree in Motorsports Engineering in the USA and also offers the M.S in technology with a motorsports concentration. This position also presents the opportunity to support the M.S. in Engineering and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Motorsports Engineering at IUPUI benefits from an outstanding relationship with the vibrant motorsports and automotive industry in Indiana and beyond. The program also enjoys a strong relationship with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. A joint appointment in Mechanical Engineering is an option depending on the interests of the candidate.
The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI has 7 academic departments with an extensive undergraduate and graduate degree portfolio, including numerous CAC, EAC, and ETAC of ABET accredited B.S programs.
